7 Crystals To Pack On Your Next Adventure

I have been drawn to crystals from a young age; I remember visiting the Natural History Museum in London during my school holidays and saving my pocket money to buy them in the gift shop. I thought they were magic. In fact, I still think they’re magic. My first ever crystal was a Tiger’s Eye, and since then, I’ve collected a number of different stones and been fascinated with their meanings. I love to combine Travel and crystals, as I truly believe they have unique healing properties and can be used for protection and good luck during your adventures.

Here are my favourite crystals to travel with…

One of my favourite gemstones, hands down. Since the earliest times, Moonstone has been a tangible connection to the magic of the moon – an amulet of protection for travelers. Dubbed as the ‘Traveler’s Stone’, Moonstone is especially protective of those who travel by night or upon the water when the moon is shining. Great if you’re on a dodgy overnight ferry ride in Asia!

Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man’s history and is a stone of protection, inner healing and calm. When it comes to travel, Turquoise safeguards you and your possessions against loss, theft and accidents.

Shungite is a great crystal to neutralise electromagnetic energy from the airport’s x-ray machine and security scanners. It helps protect your aura and energy field. It’s also a great grounding crystal; so useful if you’re feeling anxious about your trip or exploring a new environment.

Malachite is another protection stone, absorbing negative energies and pollutants from the atmosphere and from the body. I love Malachite because it helps you overcome the fear of flying. It’s said to attract smooth travels. Hold it close if you’re suffering from jetlag or if you’re stressed during bad traffic jams, delayed flights or stormy seas.

Amethyst is stress reliever, which is good because it can get pretty stressful when you’re on the road! Amethyst is said to repel negative energy and connect you with your spiritual practice. It calms your fears, lifts your mood and keeps you happy and healthy. Try to meditate with a piece of amethyst on your travels to keep you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Mookaite is one of my most recent finds and is fast becoming one of my favourites. It’s considered a healing stone by the Native Aboriginal people and was used for regeneration and the healing of wounds for ‘everyday use’. It promotes a deep calm so you can face anything that comes your way. It encourages versatility and adventure. It is said to help you know the right direction to take, which is always useful; especially when backpacking the world aimlessly!

Picture Jasper

This crystal helps give you a better understanding of the different cultures that you experience while travelling. A stone of creative visualisation with a deep connection to the earth; Picture Jasper is wonderful stone to work with if you’re a conservationist, environmentalist or simply just a fan of our beautiful planet.

So there we go, hopefully you’re feeling inspired to get around the crystal love!
